Drive 30 minutes from the Highview Hotel to the gate for Ngorongoro Crater. On the eastern side you will see the Rift Valley, elephant, buffalo, zebra, monkey, birds, as well as viewing the crater rim. Tanzanias best concentration of wild animals is in Ngorongoros huge, perfect crater. This is also the best place in Tanzania to see black rhino as well as prides of lion that include the magnificent black-maned males. There are lots of colorful flamingoes and a variety of water birds. Other game you can see includes leopard, cheetah, hyena, other members of the antelope family, and small mammals. In the late afternoon drive to your booked hotel in Moshi for overnight B&B or be dropped at Kilimanjaro or Arusha airport in time for your onward flight.

Tanzania is a very important country ornithologically. It has one of the largest species lists of any African country, over 1,000 of which over 800 species are resident and nearly 200 are regular migrants.
These safaris are suitable for any person who enjoys camping and or outdoor activities. We use good quality 4×4 land rovers and land cruisers with viewing roof hatches, equipment is carried by a additional car (if number of participating clients requires). Our Safari driver/guides have good knowledge of conservation issues, fauna and flora. Camping trips are accompanied by a Safari cook who prepares 3 delicious meals daily. In this 2 days safari you will first visit the Lake Manyara National Park with its tree climbing lions and more than 400 different bird species. The next day you visit the Tarangire National Park which is the home of the largest elephant population in the north of Tanzania. Day 1 Arusha – Lake Manyara national park
The drive from Moshi to Lake Manyara National Park takes about 4 hours. After having a picnic lunch in Manyara, you start a late afternoon game drive which is the best time to view animals in this park. When you approach it from the east, the Rift Valley escarpment looms on the horizon forming an impressive backdrop to the lake. In the tall trees of the ground water forest, monkeys leap from branch to branch, and on the escarpment, elephants stand in the shade acacia. Other animals frequently seen are zebras, impalas, monkeys, giraffes, buffalos, hippos, and others. In the late evening, you transfer to the TWIGA campsite or Highview Hotel at Karatu with full board.
